iphone4 – Gizmodo

Gizmodo has gone and done it again, they’re covering this prototype iPhone that someone “found in a bar.”

Click through to read more at Gizmodo, they’ve even got a letter from Apple, politely asking for the phone back. Gee Giz, you only spent $5,000 on it, I wonder what ad revenues have been like for you recently…

Windows 7 Impressions

Windows 7

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium and I absolutely love it.

I purchased the $30 Student copy of Windows 7 Home Premium and I was able to download it and install it on release day. I was very impressed by the capability for me to download and install a new OPERATING SYSTEM, not just an application, but Windows itself. Very cool, and I hope to see Microsoft continue offering premium downloads.

I also have my retail boxed copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on the way.

I highly recommend that if you haven’t upgraded from XP, you upgrade to Windows 7 now. Also, the prices on new laptop and desktop computers have fallen, and if you’re not interested in doing the (simple) Windows 7 Install process, this season would be a good time to purchase a new computer with Windows 7.

New iPod Nanos! 5th Gen

Just watched the Only Rock and Roll Keynote coverage, and the announcements were big but not that big. I’m a bit disappointed that there isn’t a camera on the iPod touch, but the Nano got a video camera, FM radio, and Nike+. Leo Laporte did excellent coverage from the keynote, at http://live.twit.tv/

46-Foot Long Self-Supporting Lego Bridge to Set New World Record

Have a look at this thing! Way better than the Popsicle stick bridges I used to make as a kid. I’d bet it doesn’t hold as much weight. Still, remarkable for its size.

Slashdot | Zombie Macs Launch DoS Attack

Slashdot is writing about an all-Mac based botnet that is already doing some nasty stuff out there. It seems the bad code came from pirating copies of iW0rk 09 and CS4.

You could easily hide code like that in Apple packages and because you usually have to authenticate to install in the Mac OS, the malicious software would only have to ask for your password to get it.

Zappos Map

This thing is a bit strange. Click through and you will see a map of the current shoe purchases from Zappos.com, and where they’re being delivered to in real time. Somewhat big brother-esque, but then again there isn’t any personal info associated, so its just an interesting way to show data.

I do wonder how all of these people can buy shoes ONLINE. It just seems to be one of those purchases you should try first in the store. I suppose they could all have tried the shoes in a local retailer first, but I doubt it.

Like clothes and furniture, you should probably see and feel your purchase before buying. Want a million dollar idea? Invent a way to touch things over the internet…. Hey, you’ll probably make more than a million on that idea, and you might have some fun while doing it too.
